Earlier this week I posted a link to an article about composting. I was excited to see that one of the people in the article used old coffee containers. My mom saves her old coffee containers ( and her compost able materials) and I use those to keep my compost in until I put it in my indoor composter or my outdoor composters. You can buy cute containers that look better on your counter but these work just great and are being repurposed! Any container that you have with a good seal will work just fine!
